that identifying and addressing physical risk factors at the job
site can be pivotal to the success of one's rehabilitation. Our
ergonomic consultants have completed the course work, "Ergonomic
& Injury Management Training Certification" through Isernhagen
& Associates. Susan Isernhagen, P.T. is president of Isernhagen
Work Systems. She has worked extensively in the U.S. and Canada
in work injury management, and in the training of medical professionals
in this domain.

Comprehensive report
of findings is included with ergonomic evaluation. Ergonomic adjustments
and product recommendations (monitor arm, ergonomic chair, type
of keyboard/keyboard tray, etc.) are made in this report.
Industrial Job Site
Analysis Involves:
- Onsite observation
of employee's bio-mechanical movement patterns as they specifically
relate to required job tasks.
- Identifying and
measuring of forces involved in performing essential functions
of job.
- Identifying factors
that put employee at risk for injury or exacerbation of symptoms.
- Coaching employee
on strategies to minimize physical and repetitive stresses
- Comprehensive report
of findings including recommendations for ergonomic adjustments
and products
Billing: When
possible, we will bill a patient's/employee's insurance for the
ergonomic consult (using CPT code V0823). If insurance coverage
is unavailable, another possibility is to bill the employer or business
directly.
In the instances where
insurance coverage is unavailable, Renaissance will often outsource
its consulting work to InjuryFree,
a larger ergonomic consulting firm we're associated with. For the
past 2 years, Renaissance has watched InjuryFree emerge as a leader
in the burgeoning market that encompasses ergonomics, industrial
injury management, injury prevention, and wellness programs. Their
services also include:
- Creating job specific
return to work programs that determine appropriate "light
duty" tasks
- Onsite/mobile conditioning
and prevention programs that may include use of MedX lumbar strength
testing and training equipment.
